HOW TO TRANSCRIBE

DOs DON’TS
Use transcription tools wisely: Leverage software to save time, but always review carefully for accuracy. Rely only on auto-transcription: Software errors can distort meaning; always proofread manually.
Transcribe in stages: Break long recordings into smaller sections for easier handling. Edit content prematurely: Focus on accurate transcription before summarizing or rewriting.
Keep original audio accessible: Retain the recording for fact-checking and future reference. Ignore context: Don’t leave out background noises or interruptions if they provide meaningful context.
Note emotions and tone: Indicate when the interviewee shows strong emotion (e.g., [laughs], [pauses thoughtfully]). Lose track of time stamps: For long interviews, include time markers for significant quotes.

Solution ONLY with software

Congratulations on your performance today. How would you describe your feelings after this competition? Thank you. I feel completely exhausted but at the same time really happy.

It was a tough competition and I gave it everything I had. Knowing that my effort paid off makes me really proud. Was there a specific moment in the competition that stood out to you or changed the course of the event? Yes, absolutely.

In the final round I pushed myself to the limit and realized I still had something left in the tank. I focused entirely on my technique and tried to stay mentally strong. I think that made all the difference in the end.

So what's next for you after this competition? How are you planning to prepare for future challenges? Oh, I'll definitely take a few days to recover but then I'll get right back to training. My next big goal is the upcoming competition in a few months. I want to come back even stronger and improve on today's performance.
