U-MEDIA PLATFORM PRESENTED AT THE AIPS CONGRESS

Ahead of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, which will take centre stage across six cities, including the German capital, Berlin, from 16 to 27 July 2025, Media Services Manager and Erasmus+ Project Coordinator Maxim Berdnikov, shared the concept of the event’s media operations and presented the innovative project of U-Media to the participants of the 87th AIPS Congress in Rabat, Morocco.

It was the second time that Morocco and Africa hosted the most important gathering of sports journalists in the world after the 2005 elective congress in Marrakech proved to be a major turning point in the history of this 100-year-old association.

The AIPS Congress is an annual gathering of sports journalists from across the globe, organised by the International Sports Press Association. It serves as a key platform for discussing challenges in the industry, sharing innovations, and strengthening international cooperation within the sports media community.

For four days, Rabat was the hub of international sports journalism, promoting intercultural dialogue and collaboration. There were  discussions about artificial intelligence, content creators, investigative journalism, illegal betting, women in sports journalism and other important topics as delegates tried to find solutions to the major challenges facing sports journalism in a rapidly changing world.

Representatives of the IOC, FIFA, UEFA, IJF, Special Olympics, Rhine-Ruhr 2025, Centro Caribe Sports, the Moroccan Football Federation, etc, delivered insightful presentations on their upcoming events and activities.

Maxim Berdnikov presented to around 100 representatives of the national sports press associations the U-Media project and the educational platform (launched on 2 May 2025), which offers educational materials for student reporters, including facts and figures of previous FISU Games as well as lectures on different media topics.
